Anyone want to read a snippet from Paint Me a Tragedy?
In this scene, Daryn is being controlled by a witch, but he doesn’t know how or why…
I steadily grew more nervous. What kind of spell is this? What do they want with me? I didn’t think a witch could do this kind of thing without being close by. Surely she isn’t following us. I glanced behind us, but couldn’t see anything with the curve of the climb blocking the view.
The bridge Ghost mentioned came into view. My legs slowed as I approached it. It stretched from one rocky cliff to the other on the far side of the deep ravine. Way down below was a river that flowed through rocky crevices. Anyone who fell from here would be dead.
The stone bridge looked sturdy, like it had been crafted of magic and carved directly out of the stone of the mountain.
My feet carried me onto the bridge, and out over the ravine. I slowed once I reached the center of the bridge. I almost sighed in relief at the slower pace, but then I realized my feet were carrying me over to the edge of the bridge. I stepped up onto the wide railing, and stood there unable to move.
